Dedicated to Lord Baleshwar i.e. Lord Shiva this temple is situated in the city of Champawat in the “Land of Gods” i.e Uttarakhand. Architecturally, this temple has magnificent stone carvings as found in many temples located in South India. This temple has been declared as a “National Heritage Monument” and is taken care by Archaeological Survey of India. Close to the temple there is a “Naula” (freshwater resource). On the auspicious day of Mahashivratri the compound of this temple witnesses an enormous number of devotees who come to seek the divine experience and blessings of Lord Shiva. Also in the compound there are two other temples, one dedicated to Ratneshwar and the other ChampawatiDurga. As the Champawati district owes the remarkable status of being the pious land of Gods. Therefore the temples in this district are taken by the Archaeological survey of India so that there is less human intervention.
