Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Mandir

Dedicated to the Lord of Beginnings i.e. Lord Ganesha, Siddhivinayak temple is located in Prabhadevi, Mumbai. It is one of the most sacred temples across India. It is believed that a devotee called “Deubaipatil” built the temple so that Lord Ganesh couldgrant children to the infertile woman. This temple has mandap inside the sanctum of which the idol of Lord Ganesh is placed. The noticeable feature of the idol is that its trunk points to the right. The idol of the Lord has four hands holding a lotus in the upper, an axe in the upper right, garland of beads in the lower right and a bowl full of modaks in the lower left respectively. Also on the forehead of the lord is an eye which is considered to be his third eye. Apart from its architecture, deepmalas and idol what makes this temple popular is the fulfilment of the genuine desires of people. Thousands of devotees flock to this temple to seek the blessings and tranquility from Lord Ganesh. Majorly it attracts enormous number of devotees. The west celebrated festival of Ganesh Chaturthi in Mumbai. Apart from this , the temple remains crowded for the entire week but attracts an exceptional rush on Tuesdays.
